How To Rotate UTV Tires?

Introduction:

Regular tire rotations are important to ensure even wear and prolong the life of your UTV tires.

Jack Up the Vehicle:

Use a jack to lift the UTV off the ground and place jack stands under the frame for added stability.

Remove the Tires:

Using a lug wrench, remove the lug nuts from each tire and remove the tires from the vehicle.

Inspect the Tires:

Check for any signs of damage or wear, such as cracks, bulges, or punctures. Replace any damaged tires before rotating.

Determine the Rotation Pattern:

The rotation pattern for UTV tires can vary depending on the type of UTV and the type of tires. Check the owner's manual or tire manufacturer's recommendations.

Front-to-Back Rotation:

If you have directional tires, rotate them front to back. Move the left front tire to the left rear position and the right front tire to the right rear position. The rear tires are swapped diagonally to the front positions.

Cross Rotation:

If you have non-directional tires, cross them. Move the left front tire to the right rear position and the right front tire to the left rear position.

Mount the Tires:

Place the tires in their new positions and hand-tighten the lug nuts

Lower the Vehicle:

Use the jack to lower the UTV back onto the ground and remove the jack stands.

Tighten the Lug Nuts:

Use a lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern. Use a torque wrench to ensure they are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.

Check Tire Pressure:

After rotating the tires, check the tire pressure and adjust as necessary.

Test Drive:

Take the UTV for a test drive to ensure the tires are properly balanced and aligned.
